nyfw-spring-summer-2015

New York Fashion Week has just finished and it has now moved to London. The designers I liked the most from the first round of shows are Michael Kors (for the easy to wear on a daily basis clothes), Ralph Lauren (for the elegant dresses and beautiful shade of yellow), Jenny Packham (for the red carpet outfits), Oscar de la Renta (for the ultimate feminine dresses), Narciso Rodriguez (for clothes with a bit of an edge), Zac Posen (for the use of block colours) and Tory Burch (for creating everyday pieces).

While it was impossible to feature all of my favourite looks from the entire week, I’ve put together a few of them based on the trends they’re incorporating. Here are some of my favourite outfits and trends emerging.

Yellow

Ralph Lauren / Michael Kors / Jenny Packham

Ralph Lauren’s vibrant coat would be a perfect addition to any wardrobe, Michael Kors combines a classic chambray shirt with a playful skirt and Jenny Packham’s floor-length dress is just dreamy.

Navy

Michael Kors / Calvin Klein / Michael Kors

The sailor-inspired looks from Michael Kors and the gorgeous fitted dresses by Calvin Klein are my favourites.

White

Even though white might be an obvious choice for summer, both Michael Kors and Jenny Packham give their clothes a twist with the use of laser-cut and sheer fabrics.

Pastels

Michael Kors / Oscar de la Renta / Tory Burch

Tory Burch combines bright prints with lighter pieces, Oscar de la Renta creates most beautiful and feminine dresses (all in the 50s vibe) and Michael Kors shows how to wear nudes and pastels to work.

Black

Oscar de la Renta / Zac Posen / Narciso Rodriguez

Finally, black at its best as shown by Zac Posen and Oscar de la Renta, while Narciso Rodriguez presents his designs with a bit of an edge and touches of colours.
