This post is very different to what I usually post here. It is about a project I’m involved in this year and which I would like to introduce you to.
I have been invited to take part in Dressember, which is a movement that uses fashion to advocate for women exploited for their femininity. The participants are challenged to wear and style a dress for the 31 days of December, at the same time making a statement and raising awareness of the huge issue of sex trafficking. Funds raised during the month of December will go to rescue efforts freeing women and girls around the world from this horrific situation.
I am very humbled and excited to be part of this movement. I was totally on board as soon as I watched the Dressember’s Founder Blythe Hill’s TED Talk which is very powerful and moving at the same time.
If you’re interested in seeing my attempt in wearing a dress for the whole month of December, I will be posting my styled outfits on my Facebook page and Instagram profile – make sure you visit regularly to see them!
And if you wish to make a donation, please visit my fundraising page and share it with others! Every penny will be highly appreciated.
